Professional Experience

CC Jiao practices in the areas of intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation, and regulatory enforcement in federal and state court. She has represented individuals and corporations in a range of matters, including securities fraud, commercial contract disputes, and patent infringement.

Prior to joining Markowitz & Chattoraj, Ms. Jiao was a litigation associate at Clifford Chance, where she focused her practice on white collar criminal defense and regulatory enforcement. While at Clifford Chance, Ms. Jiao represented a leading financial institution in federal and state investigations in auction rate securities. She also was active in pro bono matters, including a petition for asylum and a criminal prosecution concerning public corruption, federal program fraud, and mail fraud. Ms. Jiao also worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Investor Protection Bureau of the Office of the New York State Attorney General. While at the Attorney General’s office, her practice focused on the regulation of securities, such as credit default swaps, under the Martin Act. Additionally, she was given an honorary award for her work on an investigation into executive compensation.

Ms. Jiao is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A.S. 2004) and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D. 2007, cum laude, Order of the Coif). While at Cardozo, she was a Public Service Scholar, a member of the Cardozo Public Law, Policy, and Ethics Journal, and served as an Alexander Fellow for Judge Joseph A. Greenaway of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
